Today we travel from Madrid to Granada, stop at Toledo, the former capital city of Spain that still retains its medieval atmosphere and charm. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986, Toledo is known for its extensive monumental heritage and historical co-existence of Christian, Muslim and Jewish cultures. We enjoyed a walk through the ancient Jewish Quarter before visiting the Santa Maria la Blanca Synagogue, the oldest synagogue in Europe still standing. Then, we drove across the arid landscapes of Don Quixote's “La Mancha” to overnight at Granada.
